left out.

December 17, 2008

I am in the paper every week. I would think that when one would name Denver cartoonists my name would be in there. I produce a lot of work! More than most cartoonists. What’s funny is that a lot of my comics are about alienation and feeling left out from most social sects. And here I am being being left out of The colorado comic art show.

Here I am in two newspapers today for my show on saturday!

Aw, Noah, he’s just jealous of you. And his event got half a sentence in the Onion and nothing in the Westword. AND I’m not gonna bake cookies for his show!

Who’s Ston Yon? Where can I get his comics?

  3. Bitches get stiches man.

Seriously though, plug for the event in the Westword with a picture of you and one of the torchbearers of indie comics with his arm around you? Pretty legit my friend.

When was the last time you saw COMICS plugged in the Westword? Maybe when Marjane Satrapi came to TC, but I’m not sure.

And fuck all man, I’m consistently impressed with your determination to work. It’s insane and inspiring.

Noah, why the hate? Please just talk to me. I don’t like to hear about things from second parties. If you have a bone to pick, please pick it directly with me. I haven’t been purposely excluding you from anything, but I also don’t have you in my Outlook Express contact list, so I know you haven’t tried to contact me?

Look, you and all local artists should know that the Squid Works door is always open. I’ve never run the organization like it’s exclusive, but I’m also like a chicken with its head cut off, so my ability to do outreach can be limited — just bug me, man. I’m not avoiding you. In fact, I’m a great admirer of your work.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this business, is you shouldn’t burn bridges, so don’t go out of your way to beat down me as a straw man for any of your frustrations.

    Truce?

Oh, and where did I misspell your name? Apologies, and I will correct it if it’s on our site.

I’m glad we had a chance to talk Noah. If you like, you can delete my responses to your now edited post above. They seem out of context now.

Hopefully some of the folks that read our forums will make your event. I may have a bulletin sent to them so we can have other parts of the Denver comic community there. I’m sorry I won’t be able to make it myself, but I trust you’ll tell us in great detail (including photos) about it here!
