February 27, 2009
I’ve had to make a list of all the things That I’ve committed to and I hung it on my door in my bedroom. Ever since I’ve been doing all these interviews and getting press, I’ve been getting e-mails from people who all want me to contribute to something or illustrate another thing. It’s crazy, but I love it! I want to do a lot of stuff and be involved with more. So, there’s the list and I’ve been just working my way down it knocking as much out as I can.
Everyday when I get home from work it’s really windy outside. Is there anything more annoying than wind? Just listening to it drives me crazy.
There is a new interview with me up today on pulse’s site:

Read it if you dare.

DON’T LOOK BACK
February 2, 2009
I was cleaning up my room this evening and decided it was time to put my newest collection of magazines, newspapers, and zines featuring my artwork, away into my file box. The box in my closet that contains my entire career as an artist in it’s cardboard walls. This box sits on top of another similar box that contains other memorabilia from Noah Van Sciver’s existence. Photos.
I decided that I’d have a look! Why not, right? It’s pretty cool to see yourself in different stages of your life, right? Wrong, friends. Wrong.
What a weird dude I am. I use to have a huge freaking afro. A skinny kid with a huge curly afro. I had to wear Jonah’s clothes because I barely had my own. I spent most of my teenage years skateboarding around and being intellectually clueless and liking it that way, because in today’s society being smart is stupid. I wasted so much time! If I had been drawing as much as I should have been, I could have been a boy wonder! I could probably draw really well right now! Looking at old pictures is the most depressing thing. Maybe I’m just completely Vain. Who cares?
I found one of me when I was probably only 20. With my old man. It’s the last time I saw the guy, so it’s a good one. I wanted this photo so bad! I remember being afraid to ask for it because I was really nervous around him. Note the ghost in the corner! Or a finger. Depending on your religious beliefs.

It’s not that I ache for the past or anything. I’m better off now , It’s just time will depress you no matter what. Do you understand? It’s strange to see pictures sometimes, too, because it’s proof positive that yes indeed you are alive and are going to DIE. I don’t want to be some organism that is just going to wither over time and have to go through the disgusting act of dying. Dying makes me sick.
Here is a drawing of ethan I did when i was 21, found in the same box.

Aw, what A handsome young art nerd I was! In front of a giant painting I had no doubt just completed. Jonah has custody of all those paintings now.

Oh well.
I was asked by this website to contribute a “guest strip” and so I did! Fair Warning:If you are easily offended and cannot take jokes very well if at all, DO NOT READ THIS! I think if I can recall I used a few curse words. If that offends you, then you really haven’t lived in the real world.

also, at Newsarama “Going 180 degrees from his brother, cartoonist Noah Vansciver is a rising star on the indy scene. He chats with Newsarama“
Pretty cool except, if you recall I wrote in here about how during taped interviews I’m a complete moron. So bare with me during this…
